As you can tell Sam is quite a bit skinnier than our other two were at the same age. In fact, it appears that Charlotte and Abel had not yet grown a neck by 5 months (maybe that came more around 6 months :-) James assures me that Sam's skinnyness will mean that he will always be my tiny baby - I hope he's right.

Last week Abel had his first official sleep over at grandma's house (my mom). He did a great job without us. The next morning he took part in his first potato harvest. Gramps (my grandpa) has a large garden with lots of potatoes to collect. Abel had a great time working hard and getting dirty as you can see. Collecting potatoes in his bucket with gramps.

ONE YEAR!!!!

God has given us a wonderful year with sweet (and sharky) Charlotte. She has had an interesting first year. When she was 5 months old we sold our house in Garner and moved to Durham. For the past 7 months (we were "sure" it would only be a few weeks) she has been sleeping in our non-walk-in closet. She is quite happy in her den and sleeps best at "home" but I fear she maybe out growing the pack-n-play.

Charlotte definitely has a distinctive personality. She is sooo sweet, snugly and lovable but will also so let you know when she is unhappy and wants something different (this is her sharky side - known as Sharky Charlotte). Charlotte has learned to hold her own (unfortunately) with Abel and will hit at him with an open hand or give him a loud yell if he is bothering her. She continues to be quick to fuss but also easy to sooth. She sucks her thumb only when sleepy or sleeping so this is a great indicator for us.

We love our pretty little thing so much and are looking forward to many more exciting years of growing.

The Zoo

About a month ago we went to the Ashboro zoo. We had a great time seeing all the animals. It was a pretty busy weekend for the zoo, so it was hard to stay together and linger over each animal. I think if we went again we would go during the week. We all still had a great time and so glad "grandma" could come with us. Daddy and Abel Man (when did he get grown?)

So this is what happened when we added the brothers to the Easter photo shoot - crazy. A bunch of silly faces, wiggly bodies, Charlotte in a head-lock, and poking Marta. Well at least we tried :-) and don't worry no one was hurt in the making of these pictures.

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday celebrating the risen Christ. We got to worship with our church family and then had a fun day outside with our families. It was a beautiful day today so we decided to get out and have a little fun. We took lunch to Eno Park (in Durham), ate in the sun and then did some "hiking". We all had a great time exploring the forest. We saw lots of signs of beaver activity and even spotted a fun little turtle in the river. Praise God for such a beautiful creation! (notice the sweet beaver tree)

We can't believe that Charlotte is 9 months old! She is a real joy - quick to laugh, quick to fuss and always so sweet and fun. We are thankful for our healthy (although she does have a little cold now) girl and have enjoyed seeing her grow. She now has 6 teeth (I am working on getting a good pic) and can pull up to her feet. She always stays with us in church and has been quieter than Abel was at her age. She is definitely our lovey girl. Having some fun

Abel has been waiting for snow all day and it's finally here!!!! One good thing about living in Durham is that you get MORE snow :-) We already have at least a 1/2 inch accumulation and it is still coming down heavily.

Abel had a great day at the park today. Unexpectedly his cousins
Lilly, Hannah, and Martha were there so it was a "maximum fun day," as
Sonya put it. It was fun seeing them playing around together. My
favorite part was when Abel and Hannah were running down a hill and
Abel did a face plant in the dirt, getting some in his mouth. He
looked up at Hannah concerned, but she just said, "it's ok, just spit
it out of your mouth," as she helped him up.

Charlotte's Stats

Charlotte went to the doctor today for her 6 month check up (she is 7 months). She continues to be over the 100th percentile for weight (21 lb 5 oz) and length (29 in). Her head is in the 75th percentile. Charlotte did great at the appointment and only cried a little after her shots. The doctor said she looked great , and that she was the average size of a one year old :-) We did get a prescription ointment to hopefully help with her dry skin issues, but other than that she is perfect. We are so thankful for our sweet girl. Charlotte smiles and laughs easily and is great at falling asleep quickly. We love her sooo much and praise the Lord for the blessing of sweet Charlotte Elizabeth.

Charlotte - Six Months!

Charlotte turned 6 months yesterday so we thought it was time to eat some big girl food. She is so sweet, cute and snugly. She is a pretty good sleeper and a great eater and didn't mind the mush for the first time. Charlotte has beautiful bright eyes like her big bro Abel. She is a blessing to our family and we are thankful for every minute with her. Hope you enjoy some new pics. :-)

Seafood Buffet

That is Tommy greeting us at our dinner location last night. It was
both the most expensive (thank you Billy) and best seafood buffet I've
ever had. I ate more seafood than I ever had before, yet at the end of
the meal I was not stuffed. Tommy claimed he was the world's largest
crab, but I was doubtful (he looked likea sailor).

Last Saturday we had Abel's birthday party at Lake Benson Park. The Lord gave us a beautiful day and we all had a great time, especially Abel :-) We are so thankful for our wonderful little boy. He is growing and learning things so quickly we can't believe it. He is talking more and more. When we when for his 2 year check up he weighed 31 lbs and was 36 1/2 inches long. He actually enjoyed the doctor this time and his favorite part was getting blood drawn. He said "lady poke hole in finger" (the nurse stuck his finger and drew blood). We continually thank the Lord for his abundant kindness in giving us sweet Abel. Abel enjoyed blowing out the candles with dada

Andrew had a great time at the party, but wasn't quite sure why my camera was in his face :)

Charlotte is about 5 weeks old and we finally had her 2 month check up. She passed with flying colors. The Dr. said she gets an A+. We are so thankful for a healthy and BIG baby girl :-)

We had dinner with grandma Marna last night. She made some pasta and
meatballs with sausage. It was very yummy. Charlotte really enjoyed
being held by Marna. She got so comfy she went right to sleep. I think
in this picture she looks a little like cousin Brody.
